Truth Check — Is the Move Real?

Also known as: Truth check panel, Move quality check

Combines funding, open interest, taker flow, and price z-score to label the last hour — real demand, leverage squeeze, or thin tape.

Purpose

Truth Check answers one question for the last ~1 hour:

Is this price move backed by real participation, or is it mostly leverage and thin liquidity?

It is on Asset Info (every asset with derivatives data), not inside the BTC holder lab.

Inputs (simplified)

  • Funding — who pays whom on perps; extreme positive = crowded longs.
  • Open interest — new bets entering or positions unwinding.
  • Taker flow — aggressive buyers vs sellers hitting the book.
  • Price z-score — how unusual the move is vs recent volatility.

The panel shows a verdict label (e.g. real demand, leverage-driven, thin) and short bullets.

How to use it

  • Use before you chase a spike — Truth Check can flag a squeeze.
  • Pair with Health Check (liquidity quality) and, on BTC, Holder behavior (who holds on-chain).

Truth Check is not a forecast — it's a quality filter for right now.

Frequently asked

Truth Check says "squeeze" — what now?
Price may be driven by forced liquidations or crowded leverage. Moves can reverse fast when funding/OI normalize.
